First Aid Training

Outdoor First Aid Course (ECP Venturer Course) – ECP stands for Expedition Care Programme.

This 2 day course is designed for group leaders working in more remote areas. It is recognised by all the national governing bodies eg RYA, MLTB, SCA etc. It exceeds the recommendation for the HSE Emergency First Aid at Work course.

Content

Aims of First Aid – Paediatric, CPR/recovery position, wounds and bleeding/severe bleeding, heart attack, choking, fractures/dislocations, burns, remote fractures, spinal, common conditions, evacuation techniques, Lyme Disease & hot and cold related issues.

The above content (and more), is taught in a relaxed hands on approach with props/fake blood to make the injuries more realistic and fun. There are many opportunities to practice all the techniques discussed plus time to reflect and ask questions throughout.

This first aid course uses the amazing outdoor and indoor spaces at Camphill School, Murtle Estate, Bieldside, Aberdeen, AB15 9EP.
